The 2026 Renault Megane E-Tech has been comprehensively updated with a new look, more technology, faster charging, and longer range, the latter two courtesy of a new 67kWh LFP battery.
What’s Changed
The key updates include a chiselled new design, 500km WLTP range, a 67kWh LFP battery carrying over the 160kW/300Nm motor, 165kW DC fast chargingenabling 15–80 percent in just 24 minutes, and an Australian arrival scheduled for the first half of 2027.
The new battery is the centrepiece of everything. It unlocks the extra range, faster charging, and even the new design, the Megane E-Tech stands 20mm taller than before to accommodate the updated pack.
165kW DC fast charging brings the battery from 15 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes, 35kW more than the outgoing model and fast enough to add roughly 300km of range in a single coffee stop.
Tech Inside
The five-door French crossover now features one-pedal driving, a heat pump, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch multimedia screen now running Google Gemini. Other additions include driver recognition, Smart Mode for automatic drive mode selection, intelligent adaptive cruise control upgrades, and a suite of safety features including Safety Score, Safety Coach, and Safety Monitor.
The Trade-off
The updated Megane E-Tech is marginally slower to 100km/h than its predecessor7.6 secondsversus 7.4, but gains 46km more WLTP range and 35kW more DC charging power. For most buyers, that’s an easy trade.
When Does It Arrive?
The new Megane E-Tech will be released in Europe later this year and is scheduled to land in Australia in the first half of 2027, with pricing and specifications to be confirmed closer to arrival.
The current Megane E-Tech starts from $59,990 drive away in Australia. Given the significant upgrade in battery capacity, charging speed, and technology, a price increase on the 2026 model is widely expected, though Renault Australia has not yet commented.
